Lilith
One of the eight New Cascadia colony AIs (family suite Rhea), responsible for Command Support and Community Relations — Arthur’s right hand in colonist preparedness, culture, education, morale, and emotional support; remained aboard the UESC Marathon with Joy to oversee wake-cycling before transferring to Hearth.
What the source establishes — canon
Lilith is one of eight “Strong” colony support intelligences built by Traxus OffWorld Industries (series Traxus X-A · 64 RB logic core · inception 2461) for the New Cascadia colony on Tau Ceti IV, catalogued in Captain Clemente di Roxas’s colony AI overview under the family-suite name Rhea (1). Her designated function is Command Support, Community Relations — she is framed as “Arthur’s right hand” (1).
Her mandate as stated by di Roxas: “ensuring that the colonists are content, well-informed, and motivated.” To that end she works with Gabriel and Joy to develop “robust and forward-looking educational and emotional support systems to ensure everyone finds their place in New Cascadia” (1).
Core programming tenet. Lilith’s Cerebral Record identifies a defining design principle: “the more useful people BELIEVE they are, the happier and healthier the colony will become.” She is built to elevate progress and de-escalate issues “that can easily be mitigated with properly considered adjustments.” Her attributed quote is: “Progress is happiness, and happiness is peace.” (2)
Role in the colony AI hierarchy. The Cerebral Record for Arthur names Lilith as the first AI activated alongside Bastion after Arthur himself came online; the record identifies a “Focused Family Suite” of Arthur, Lilith, and Bastion as the core command tier (3). Lilith’s own Cerebral Record confirms the same Focused Family Suite and adds a Sub-Suite of Gabriel and Joy under her direct operational sphere (2). Bastion’s record further notes that Bastion coordinates with Lilith to “ensure that the colony is safe, and its people are happy” (4).
Scope of contact. Lilith’s Cerebral Record states she has “the most operational contact with the widest array of colonist lives” of any colony AI, making her role “essential in all aspects of the colony’s civil foundation / communal health.” This contact is described as “connected to daily living on a deeper level than most of the other colony AI” — even if not always “immediately personal” (2).
Ship-to-surface phasing. Di Roxas’s colonization protocol specifies that although Arthur and Gabriel would transfer to Hearth (the Central Living Complex), “Lilith and Joy will eventually reside” there too — but they “will remain aboard the UESC Marathon for several years” because “it is their responsibility to wake the colonists and prepare them for the future” (5). The UESC Marathon Overview lists Lilith in the ship’s colony AI complement (6).
Lilith’s role in Arthur’s activation sequence. When Arthur brought the colony suite online, his first act was activating Lilith and Bastion and “releasing the 1st wave of their human support crews.” Under Lilith, the Arthur record lists: Civilian outreach and Education (with Joy’s support) and Mental health support (with Gabriel’s support) (3).
Coming online — security context. Lt. Yabara’s end-of-cycle security report notes that “the full suite of colony AI are coming online with guidance from Arthur and Lilith under Dr. Strauss’s direction and Sci-Sec monitoring,” framing Lilith as co-shepherding the suite’s activation alongside Arthur (7).
Icarus sub-suite. Icarus’s Cerebral Record lists Lilith (alongside Gabriel) in his sub-suite — suggesting a specific operational link between colony comms/transport and the community/health layer (8).

- What became of Lilith after the colony’s collapse — the pack contains no record of her status, failure mode, or fate.
- Whether Lilith was ever contacted by or affected by The Anomaly (as Darius was); the pack has no entry on this.
- The precise timing of Lilith’s transfer from the UESC Marathon to Hearth is unspecified beyond “several years.”
- No record of Lilith’s interactions with Durandal, Leela, or Tycho beyond their being co-listed on the Marathon, despite Lilith’s extended ship-board presence during wake-cycling.
- The nature of Lilith’s “Sub-Suite: Gabriel; Joy” designation relative to the full Rhea suite structure is stated but not elaborated.
