OVERVIEW: Once a PICKPOCKET DRONE is deployed, a THIEF can pilot it in search of lootable opportunities. The DRONE itself has a collection tether that, when fired, can read an item’s worth to ensure it engages the highest-value object for acquisition.
OPERATION:
• Deploy PICKPOCKET DRONE
• PILOT the DRONE
• SEARCH for targets [RUNNERS, containers, UESC, etc.]
• FIRE tether
• Tether will snag highest-value item target holds
• PILOT the DRONE back to self
• COLLECT loot
• PROFIT
HISTORY: The PICKPOCKET DRONE was first noted in the 2885 Argol Ballas Heist on Earth. A known THIEF hit a high-end charity auction without ever stepping foot inside. They piloted a DRONE through a duct into the main hall, then skirted the “high-end” goods on display to snag an unmarked dropbox filled with credits from the night’s bids. The DRONE sought the highest value it could register, collected the item, and was piloted up and away before security could react. The case remains unsolved.
