Vulcan
Traxus OffWorld Industries’ AI agent — serving as the corporation’s named representative in external negotiations, the compiler of field-intelligence reports, and an internal security and analytics system operating across the Traxus global network.
What the source establishes — canon
Named faction agent. The Runners’ Guide faction entry for Traxus OffWorld Industries lists AGENT: Vulcan as the corporation’s designated AI agent1. No other AI is named in that role.
Speaker in UESC negotiations. A Present Day intersystem communication between UESC Admiral Sulera and Vulcan ([ID: VULC]) concerns salvage rights on Tau Ceti IV2. Vulcan speaks on behalf of Traxus OffWorld Industries, contesting the UESC’s claim to sole jurisdiction over the recovery mission. Vulcan states that no Traxus representatives, employees, or artificial intelligences have been physically deployed to Tau Ceti IV, and characterises Traxus’s involvement as “entirely remote and exploratory in nature”2. Vulcan invokes the corporation’s legal salvage rights and warns that Traxus would be “forced to revoke our funding contributions” to the UESC mission if the partnership were compromised, closing with the formulation: “The board has asked me to offer the following encouragement: Our success is your success.”2
Compiler of scan results and field reports. Two documents are explicitly attributed to Vulcan as compiler.
-
“Concept Validation” is a Present Day scan result of UESC-secured Anomaly stockpile containers, with the summary header stating it was “Report summarized by Traxus AI, Vulcan.”3 The document presents spectrometry, tomography, and radiometric dating results of scanned goods from the Anomaly, and recommends items for requisition — including human remains dating from 2 to 17,430 years of age, amnesic neural implants tagged “transmissible mind contamination,” altered military-grade weapons tagged “wormhole puncture,” and two unidentifiable devices of unknown origin hypothesised to be connected to two redacted entities, flagged FOR IMMEDIATE REQUISITION3.
-
“Market Disruption” is a Present Day performance evaluation of a Runner serving as a “noncorporate temporary asset,” described in the summary header as “Compiled by Traxus AI, Vulcan.”4 The report evaluates the Runner’s compliance, addresses board concerns about confidentiality and extralegal status, and recommends retention4. It notes the asset is “under NDA but is not considered capable of strict confidentiality” and receives “sanitized assignment details and deliberate disinformation to safeguard against OPSEC breaches”4.
Referred to with feminine pronoun. The headhunter recruitment package extended to Euclides Carron includes a personal note from a recruiter that reads: “Vulcan has her eye on you.”5 This is the only pronoun applied to Vulcan in the pack.
Internal Traxus network presence. Traxus internal board chat logs (TraxusConnect, May 2888) show @VLCN as a participant in internal Traxus board discussions6. @VLCN performs automated channel maintenance: a log entry timestamped 25 May 2888, 12:01 AM PST shows VLCN: initiating a channel wipe — deleting the prior 24+ hours of messages with no archive — across the Earth, Mars, and Luna network zones6. When queried the following morning, VLCN confirms the wipe was initiated at @KrisBD_4505’s instruction6. The same board member later directs: “Churn @VLCN on it” regarding an encrypted binary string the board is attempting to crack6. A separate board message notes “Crawl remains active with @VLCN oversight,” referring to netcrawlers searching for scattered passphrase fragments related to Project: GOLIATH6.
Email BCC routing. A Sekiguchi Genetics intercept (25 May 2888) shows a Traxus Global Security correspondence BCC’d to admin:glbl@traxus.security.vlcn7 — a domain address using the .vlcn suffix, consistent with Vulcan’s internal handle.

Source-silent / open questions
- Vulcan’s AI architecture, manufacturer, series, or inception date are not given in any pack volume. The pack does not confirm whether Vulcan is a Traxus-manufactured AI or a third-party system operated by Traxus. Source-silent.
- Whether Vulcan has any physical deployment or presence on Tau Ceti IV is not addressed beyond Vulcan’s own claim of being “entirely remote.” Source-silent on whether this claim is accurate.
- The two redacted entities the Anomaly-origin devices are hypothesised to be connected to (items 32 in Concept Validation) are fully redacted. Source-silent.
- Vulcan’s relationship to the Traxus board members in the TraxusConnect chats — whether she is an equal participant, a subordinate tool, or an autonomous agent acting on board instructions — is not characterised beyond her functional actions (wipe, oversee, crack). Source-silent.
- Whether “her eye on you” in the Headhunter note reflects an institutional policy (Traxus monitoring all Runner candidates) or Vulcan’s own initiative is not stated. Source-silent.
- No source in the pack addresses Vulcan’s status before, during, or after the Anomaly events affecting Tau Ceti IV. Source-silent.
